About Dr. Mamika Motokawa

Dr. Mamika Motokawa graduated from Akita University School of Medicine, Japan, in 2001 and completed her Postdoctoral Fellowship at the University of Connecticut Health Center in 2003. Before joining SHIP International Hospital, she held key positions at several prestigious medical institutions in Japan, including Muroran City General Hospital, Goi Hospital, Yonemori Hospital, Kitasato University, Shounan Atsugi Hospital, and Akita University School of Medicine.
Currently, Dr. Mamika Motokawa serves as a Senior Consultant in the Cardiovascular Surgery Department at SHIP International Hospital. She is an experienced cardiothoracic surgeon and cardiovascular specialist, specializing in the diagnosis and surgical treatment of complex conditions affecting the cardiovascular system.
Over the past three years, Dr. Motokawa has been actively practicing in Bangladesh, where she has performed more than 600 complex cardiovascular surgeries. She also works closely with Bangladeshi doctors, sharing her advanced surgical knowledge and clinical expertise to enhance cardiovascular surgical capabilities.
With over 20 years of surgical expertise, she routinely performs Off-Pump CABG, On-Pump CABG, Heart Valve Repair and Replacement, thoracic and abdominal aortic replacement, and aortic stent grafting for TAA and AAA. Her extensive experience in cardiothoracic surgery enables her to provide specialized surgical care for patients with complex heart and aortic conditions.
