About Dr. Mamika Motokawa

Dr. Mamika Motokawa graduated in 2001 from Akita University School of Medicine, Japan, and completed her Postdoctoral Fellowship at the University of Connecticut Health Center in 2003. Prior to joining SHIP International Hospital, she served in key positions across prestigious institutions in Japan, including Muroran City General Hospital, Goi Hospital, Yonemori Hospital, Kitasato University, Shounan Atsugi Hospital, and Akita University School of Medicine. Currently, Dr. Mamika Motokawa serves as Senior Consultant in the Cardiovascular Surgery Department at SHIP International Hospital. Over the past 3 years, she has been actively working in Bangladesh, where she has performed more than 600 complex cardiovascular surgeries while continuously guiding Bangladeshi doctors and sharing her advanced knowledge and clinical expertise for technology transfer. With over 20 years of expertise, she routinely performs off-pump and on-pump CABG, valve repair and replacement, thoracic and abdominal aorta replacement, and aortic stent grafting (TAA & AAA).
