The Department of Cardiovascular Surgery provides surgical treatment for a variety of cardiovascular diseases. We have two experienced Japanese Cardiovascular surgeons who are supporting us with the transfer of technology and also with developing the center with the Japanese system of care for both surgical and postsurgical periods. Successful cardiovascular surgery requires accurate diagnosis, speedy and reliable surgery, and careful perioperative management. Even if the surgery is good, if the diagnosis and postoperative management are not appropriate, good results will not be obtained. In our department, we perform cardiovascular surgery and post-operative management of the highest standard, leveraging the high level of individual skills and team strength that brings out the best in these skills. Heart and vascular surgery is often an emergency and requires a high degree of specialization, so multiple specialized staff are always on hand to handle the surgery. We have formed a "Heart Team,'' including cardiovascular surgeons, anesthetists, nurses, clinical engineers, perfusionists, technicians, and physiotherapists working to improve our system to deal with a variety of heart diseases, and working as one to treat patients. We aim to help patients return to society as quickly as possible by implementing treatment methods that are less invasive to the body.
