Dr. Md. Latiful Bari Shakil

Dr. Md. Latiful Bari Shakil attained his MBBS from Mymensingh Medical College in 2009 and completed his MS (Master in Surgery) from Bangladesh Medical University-BMU in 2020. He qualified the Membership Examination from the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh in 2019. Dr. Bari holds FMAS, DMAS, and EFIAGES from India, with advanced training in laser proctology from Agra and laparoscopic hernia surgery from APHS. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS) and a Member of both the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and England. He has multiple publications in international journals on breast cancer surgery, pancreatic cancer diagnosis, and newer surgical innovations, and has received national recognition including the NST Fellowship (Prime Minister's Award, 2019) and the Director General Award (2014). Dr. Bari actively contributes to professional societies including SOSB, SELSB, and HSB, and advocates academic mentorship and surgical training. Currently, he is a Guest Consultant at SHIP International Hospital and works in the Department of Colorectal Surgery at BMU. He has expertise in advanced laparoscopy, interventional endoscopy, LASER and LONGO surgery, performing general and laparoscopic surgeries including piles, fissure, fistula, rectum and colon cancer, peptic ulcer, gallstones, pancreatic stones, appendicitis, hernia, breast tumor, burn-plastic, trauma, cancer surgeries, and surgical emergencies.
