Prof. Dr. Nayeem Al Imam is a highly experienced, compassionate, and dedicated surgeon with an extensive background in general surgery.
He completed his MBBS from Mymensingh Medical College in 1999 and went on to earn his FCPS in Surgery from the Bangladesh College of Physicians and Surgeons in 2007.
He began his medical career with an internship in the Department of Surgery at Mymensingh Medical College & Hospital, laying a strong foundation for his future in surgical care. He later served in progressive roles at Dhaka Medical College Hospital, including Honorary Medical Officer, Assistant Registrar, Resident Surgeon, Registrar, and eventually, Professor and head of the department at Uttara Adhunik Medical College.
Over the years, he has held key positions in various healthcare institutions, including Consultant in Charge at General Hospital, Faridpur, and Consultant Surgeon at Upazila Health Complex, Dohar, Dhaka.
Currently, he serves as the Chief Consultant of the General Surgery Department at SHIP International Hospital, Dhaka, where he continues to uphold a high standard of surgical excellence.
In addition, he has authored and contributed to multiple publications on topics such as the evaluation and management of carcinoma of the head of the pancreas and rare cases like Phyllodes Tumour.
He is particularly proficient in advanced laparoscopic surgery, performing highly challenging procedures such as removal of gangrenous, pus-filled, or densely adhered gallbladders and appendices—cases that often demand exceptional surgical control and decision-making.
Highly skilled surgeon with extensive experience in multiple branches of surgery, with a strong focus on abdominal cancers involving the gastrointestinal tract—including colorectal, liver, pancreatic, and splenic tumors.
