Prof. Dr. Syed Ali Ahsan

Prof. Dr. Syed Ali Ahsan was Asst. Registrar and Asst. Professor of NICVD, Dhaka and Asst. Professor of BSMMU. He was Ex-Chairman, Professor & Head of Intervention Division Department of Cardiology Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU). He is working as a Professor & Head of the Department of Cardiology, Anwer Khan Modern Medical College Hospital. Prof. Dr. Syed Ali Ahsan got training from Charles Nicolle Hospital Rouen- France, Mercy & Port Huron General Hospital, Michigan- America, Apollo Hospital, Hyderabad, India.

He starts his work in Cath. Lab since 1987 (starting from NICVD Dhaka, Bangladesh). He has a special interest in Interventional Cardiology. During his practice, he performed 1000 Diagnostic Cardiac Catheters in Congenital cases, 14856 Coronary Angiogram cases, 11924 PTCA & Stenting cases, 1500 Permanent Pacemaker implanted, including single and dual chamber cases, 25 Pulmonary Valvuloplasty cases, 260 Renal & Peripheral Angioplasty cases, 1050 Percutaneous Transluminal Mitral Commissuretomy cases and few CRT-D.

Prof. Dr. Syed Ali Ahsan is a life member of Bangladesh Cardiac Society, Association of Physician of Bangladesh, Cardiac Society of India (CSI), Asian Pacific Society of Interventional Cardiology (APSIC) Singapore, life Member & fellow of Indian College of Cardiology (ICC), fellow American College of Cardiology(FACC), March 2006 Atlanta, USA and Vice- President Bangladesh Society Of Interventional Cardiology.

Now Prof. Dr. Syed Ali Ahsan is working as Chief Consultant and Head of Department, Cardiology at Ship International Hospital.
