Dr. Md. Latiful Bari Shakil has attained his Medical graduation (MBBS) from Mymensingh Medical College in 2009. Later, he secured his MS (Master in Surgery) degree from Bangladesh Medical University-BMU (Ex PG Hospital) in 2020. Meanwhile, he qualified Membership Examination from the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh in 2019.
Dr. Bari has an extensive academic and professional credentials, including FMAS, DMAS (Fellowship and Diploma in Minimal Access Surgery respectively) and EFIAGES (Fellowship in Diagnostic and Interventional Endoscopy) from India, advanced training in laser proctology from Agra and Laparoscopic Hernia surgery from APHS.
He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (ACS) and a Member of both the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and England. His scholarly contributions include multiple publications in international journals focusing on Breast Cancer surgery, Pancreatic Cancer Diagnosis and Newer Surgical Innovations.
A recipient of the NST Fellowship (Prime Minister’s Award, 2019) and the Director General Award (2014), Dr. Bari has been recognized nationally for his leadership and research excellence.
An advocate for academic mentorship and surgical training, Dr. Bari actively contributes to professional societies including SOSB, SELSB, and HSB. His vision combines surgical precision, compassionate care, and continuous learning to advance the standard of surgery in Bangladesh.
Before joining as a Guest Consultant at Ship International Hospital, he was serving at kurmitola General Hospital, Dhaka as Consultant of Surgery. Currently he is working at the Department of Colorectal Surgery, BMU.
Dr. Bari is well expertise in Advanced Laparoscopy, Interventional Endoscopy, LASER and LONGO surgery.
